One reason for the abysmal video performance (ASIDE from the onboard chip) could be the 8MB of VRAM that I found in the BIOS… I wonder if this is some mistake as I understood a certain amount of the RAM to be set aside for video performance, somewhere between 128 and 256MB of RAM. I’m going to try and update the BIOS and see if this unlocks the setting. If not… ???

Should all go well installing the 4GB Ram Stick THIS will be the 64-bit OS of choice. If I have to settle for a 2GB Stick I’ll be installing the 32-bit version.

…the onboard video simply WILL NOT play any form of Hi Def Vidz. No matter, I’m mostly an AVI Guy BUT MP4 and MKV WOULD be nice. Maybe the new RAM will make a difference…
